Beautifully written! As a parent of two elementary school going boys, I know exactly what you are talking about. I am consumed with my boys — all my waking hours are spent on thinking about them. If they get sick, life becomes unbearable. If they practice kindness towards others, a little joy sparks in my heart. It is an amazing ride so far. Being “educated south-Asian parents,” we already visit famous college campuses to see where our children might end up in the future. Any thought of them being far away makes me sad. Your article addresses how this feeling needs to be adjusted and how we should view the journey we have with our children. Very nicely done!
